September 22, Fineko/abc.az. The total number of Azerbaijani citizens who left for foreign countries for Jan-Aug 2023 increased by 23% versus Jan-Aug 2022 and reached 1.209 million people.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 44.3% of citizens visited Türkiye, 21.3% - Russia, 9.1% - Georgia, 7.4% - Iran and 17.9% - other countries. 65.1% of those who left were men, 34.9% - women.

Over the past 8 months, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who have left for Russia has increased 1.5-fold, to Georgia by 33.6%, to Türkiye by 13.7%, and to Iran decreased by 20%.

In 8 months, 68.6% of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries traveled by air, 28.8% by rail and road, and 2.6% by sea.
