Real estate has fallen in price in Europe

October 4, Fineko/abc.az. The housing prices in the eurozone (countries where the euro is the official currency) unexpectedly changed for the 2nd quarter of 2023 - real estate fell in price for the first time since 2014, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Eurostat.

According to analysts, in April-June, the cost of housing decreased by 1.1% versus April-June 2022. However, in the 1st quarter (Jan-Mar) of 2023, there was a positive trend - plus 0.4% in annual terms.

Experts noted that the decline in housing prices in the 2nd quarter of this year was observed in nine eurozone countries, and growth in 17. Residential real estate fell most significantly in Germany (-9.9%), Denmark (-7.6%) and Sweden (-6.8%). The most significant price increases were registered in Croatia (+13.7%), Bulgaria (+10.7%) and Lithuania (+9.4%).

Compared with Q1, housing prices in the eurozone in April-June grew by 0.1% and in the European Union by 0.3%, experts added.
