$10 bn invested in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Project

Investments in the construction of international railway project Baku-Tbilisi-Kars have totaled $10 billion.

At the Baku official ceremony of opening of the railroad Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili has stated that it is planned to carry 1 million passengers and 4 million tons of cargo at primary stage via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway route.

"In subsequent years, passenger carriages via this route will increase up to 6 million people and cargo transportation up to 20 million tons a year," the Georgian PM said.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev said in his turn during the ceremony that railway project Baku-Tbilisi-Kars has been invested more than $10 billion.
