November 6, Fineko/abc.az. For the first time in the history of bilateral relations, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania exceeded $500 million.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov said about this at a joint press conference with Romanian FM Luminica Odobescu in Bucharest.

"Last year we marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, all these years our relations have demonstrated increasing dynamism. The recent mutual visits of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Romania have laid solid foundation for bilateral relations. On the basis of this dialogue, the level has been reached when there are effective relations between the two countries, inter-parliamentary cooperation, humanitarian exchanges," he said.

According to Bayramov, Romania was the second country to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan, and to this day continues to support the territorial integrity of the country.

“Over the past 4 years, the trade turnover between the countries has been increasing, and by the end of 2022, for the first time in the history of bilateral relations, it exceeded $0.5 billion. The positive trend continues in 2023. According to preliminary indicators, this amount has already reached $526 million in 9 months,” he said.
