China introduces visa-free travel for a range of countries

November 24, Fineko/abc.az. From December 1, 2023, the Chinese authorities will introduce visa-free regime for citizens of five EU members (Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, France and Germany) and Malaysia, ABC.AZ reports, citing Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry’s official representative Mao Ning.

She specified at a regular briefing that visa-free travel in respect of these countries will operate on an experimental basis until November 30, 2024.

"China has decided to expand the scope of the unilateral visa-free regime in order to facilitate movement of people between China and the outside world for the benefit of intensive development and maintaining a high level of openness," Ning explained.

Ministry’s representative added that representatives of the listed states will be able, with a regular passport, to make business and tourist trips to China without a visa, visit relatives and friends for 15 days.
