November 24, Fineko/abc.az. The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has invited the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as a guest of honor to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-Central Asia summit to be held in his country in 2025.

He also invited the Azerbaijani President to an official visit to Uzbekistan in 2024.

ABC.AZ reports that Mirziyoyev said about this during talks with President Aliyev in Baku.

Mirziyoyev also proposed to declare 2024 the year of intensive development of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan multifaceted relations.

During the meeting, issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, which are at the level of strategic partnership, were also discussed, including agreements reached earlier between the heads of state.
