November 28, Fineko/abc.az. As of October 1, 2023, 1,094,600 pensioners were registered in the State Social Protection Fund (10.8% of the country's population). Of them, 64.2% receive old-age pension, 23.6% - pension for disability, and 12.2% - pension on the occasion of the loss of the head of the family.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the average monthly amount of assigned pensions increased by 17.7% compared with Jan-Sept 2022 and by 17.3% compared with the beginning of this year and amounted to 436.3 manats and was equal to 47.4% of the average monthly salary.

In the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, the average monthly pension was 594.38 manats. After Baku, the highest average monthly pension was given in Nakhchivan. Here the average monthly pension was 405.22 manats. After Nakhchivan, Zangilan (394.58 manats), Shirvan (376.53 manats), Shusha (371.68 manats) took the first place among the cities and districts with the highest pension.

The lowest pension for pensioners is registered in Sabirabad district. The average monthly pension in this area was 304.39 manats. Among the districts where a lower pension is provided are Agdash and Khachmaz (330.72 manats).
