Huawei has tested its analog Starlink

November 29, Fineko/ Huawei has announced the successful testing of its version of satellite Internet, similar to Starlink system from SpaceX.

ABC.AZ reports that the details were shared by the chief researcher of the Huawei 6G wireless technology lab at an event dedicated to development of aerospace information technologies in Chongqing (China).

According to the presentation, Huawei's satellite Internet managed to provide download speeds of up to 660 Mbps.

Huawei did not disclose which satellites were used to create its own network. It is only known that they are placed in low Earth orbit (like Starlink).

It was recently reported that China has launched its own satellites of this type, perhaps they provided satellite communications for Huawei.

Of course, it will take time for a Chinese company to create a full-fledged network like Starlink, and despite the successful tests, it is not known exactly when this network will fully work.

Flagship smartphone Huawei Mate 60 Pro+, presented in September, already has satellite communication support.
