The implementation of the State Program of Socio-Economic Growth of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-27 will change the appearance of the city of Nakhchivan and the regions of the NAR, will be a great incentive for its development. The functionality and architectural design of the buildings built in Nakhchivan were not at the proper level. In order to eliminate these shortcomings, the Nakhchivan City Master Plan is currently being prepared.

ABC.AZ reports that Ilgar Sadigov, chairman of the NAR State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture said about this.

He noted that the last time the master plan of the city of Nakhchivan was developed in the 80s of the last century.

"Serious work has been carried out in the city of Nakhchivan to compile topographic maps, which is one of the most important issues. This work was done by the Institute of Cartography, and we currently have these topographic maps. One of the necessary steps for development of the master plan of Nakhchivan is construction of social housing. Within the state program, residential complexes will be built, and for this purpose, the allocation of appropriate land plots in the city has already begun," Sadigov said.

These territories were reviewed and positive results were given. A decision has already been made on the construction of social housing in these territories.

"Another important point relates to construction of new medical institutions. Taking into account the current demand and population growth rates, it is planned to build new medical institutions in several innovative and modern architectural styles. By order of the NAR Ministry of Health, drafts of the general concept of the construction of a Family Health Center, the Training & Simulation Center have been prepared. The projects were deemed acceptable. The territories were also recognized as similar," Sadigov said.

He stressed that this work is not limited only to Nakhchivan. Master plans of the cities of Shakhbuz and Ordubad of NAR are also being developed.
