November 30, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, exemption from customs duties imposed since early 2023 on imports of Pakistani rice could affect imports.

ABC.AZ reports that in the first three quarters of 2023, Azerbaijan imported about 1,663 tons of rice from Pakistan (78% more versus the 2022 same term) for $1.332 million.

In accordance with Azerbaijani Cabinet Ministers’ resolution, imports of rice of foreign origin from Pakistan are exempt from customs duties from December 31, 2022 to December 31, 2027.

Despite this, the importer companies of Azerbaijan could not reduce the share of India. India's share, which accounted for 74% of total rice imports for the same period of 2022 has grown to 86% this year. Azerbaijan imported 38,991 tons of rice this year from the South Asian country for $35.555 million.
