Revenues of municipalities increased, and taxes collected by them observe growth

November 30, Fineko/abc.az. The budget revenues of municipalities, taxes collected and rents have increased.

ABC.AZ reports that Rahman Mammadov, the head of the Center for Work with Municipalities of the Ministry of Justice, said about this during public hearings in parliament.

He added that in 2021-22, as a result of the adjustment of prices for market rates by municipalities for more than 3,900 lease agreements covering over 34,000 hectares of land, the total amount of rent under these lease agreements increased by 1.5 million manats to 2.9 million manats.

Mammadov noted that by the end of 2022, the revenues of municipal budgets in the country amounted to 47.4 million manats: "In 2020-22, the total budget revenues of municipalities increased by 12.4 million manats (35%) compared with 2019, and revenues from local taxes – by 6 million manats (43%): for Baku municipalities over the past two years, budget revenues have increased by 58%, and revenues from local taxes - by 73%."
