Russia remains in 1st place on tourist flow to Türkiye

December 1, Fineko/ Over Jan-Oct 2023, 5.8 million Russians visited Türkiye that makes up 13.2% of the total rate of tourists and allows Russia to occupy the leading position.

ABC.AZ reports that in just 10 months of 2023, 44.2 million foreign tourists visited Türkiye.

This is 11.6% higher versus Jan-Oct 2022. Top 5, in addition to Russia, includes Germany (5.7 million people), the UK (3.6 million), Bulgaria (2.4 million) and Iran (2.1 million).

In the Russian market, the destination came out on top in terms of demand from tour operators (the share in total volume is from 35% to 65%). Türkiye remained the leading destination in autumn, which allowed the market to partially compensate for the losses of spring and early summer.

The Mediterranean Association of Hoteliers & Tour Operators expects that by the end of 2023, Türkiye will be very close to the mark of 60 million foreign tourists and revenues of $56 billion. The tourist flow to Antalya is expected to be over 15 million tourists and exceed the pre-Covid level.
