December 4, Fineko/abc.az. The EU countries imported 5,900 tons of peeled hazelnuts from Azerbaijan for Jan-Sept 2023 (decline of 1.5-fold year-on-year) for €31.2 million (decline of 1.6-fold).

ABC.AZ reports that according to Eurostat, Azerbaijan exported 3,200 tons of hazelnuts to Germany (a rise of 1.8-fold) for €17.3 million (growth: 1.6-fold), to Italy – 1,700 tons (decline of 3.9-fold) for €9 million (decline: 4.2-fold).

Small volumes were purchased by the Czech Republic, Estonia, Spain, France, Latvia, Poland and Slovakia.

According to Eurostat, EU countries imported 10,100 tons of hazelnuts from Azerbaijan in 2022 (a rise of 42.7% versus 2021) for €58.1 million (increase of 44.5%).
