December 6, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of earnings from air cargo transportation in Azerbaijan has sharply declined compared with last year.

ABC.AZ reports that decrease was 51%.

Cargo planes carried 255,000 tons of cargo in the first 3 quarters of 2023 (21.9% less than a year earlier).

The decline in freight traffic has also reduced revenue from freight transportation. Cargo airlines operating in Azerbaijan received a total of 1.352 billion manats in the first 3 quarters of the year (51.1% less than a year ago). For the 2022 same term, airline income from cargo transportation reached 2.767 billion.

The semi-annual audit report of Silk Vey Vest Airways LLC, one of the largest transport companies in Azerbaijan, shows that the current year is weaker than the previous one. If in the 1st half of 2022 the company received revenue of 1.785 billion manats, then this year this figure has fell to 816.4 million manats.
