China commissions 4th generation nuclear power plant

December 6, Fineko/ China has commissioned the world's first nuclear power plant of the 4th generation.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China.

He added that the Shidaowan facility with high-temperature gas-cooled reactor is located in the eastern province of Shandong. The NPP has been continuously operating in test mode for 168 hours and has been officially put into commercial operation.

"This indicates that China has reached the world's leading level in research, development and application of fourth-generation nuclear energy technologies," NEA website says.

It clarifies that the most significant advantage of the gas-cooled reactor is its safety in the field of electricity generation, and therefore such nuclear power plants have broad prospects.
