January 8, Fineko/abc.az. In 2019, the Baku population employed in the production of alternative energy reached 4,450 people. And by 2040, 2,295 additional jobs will be created in this area.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Baku City Mater Plan until 2040.

In 2019, the value of GDP produced in the alternative energy sector amounted to 146 million manats, and sector's share in GDP was 0.5%. In 2020-2040, this sector will produce 935 million manats of additional GDP, and in 2040 the share of the alternative energy sector in GDP will be 2%.

Annual economic growth of 10% is also expected due to the alternative energy sector.
