Ilham Aliyev received credentials of new U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan

January 18, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted credentials of newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America Mark Libby, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration.

"The sides exchanged views on the prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S. in various fields, as well as on international and regional issues. Issues of cooperation in the economic and energy spheres, between the business circles of the two countries were touched upon," the press service informs.

During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the peace agenda.

The U.S. diplomat congratulated President Aliyev on the occasion of this year's COP 29 Conference in Azerbaijan.

"During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States within the framework of COP 29 were also touched upon," the press service informed.
