February 2, Fineko/abc.az. "At the initial stage, we aim to include in the insurance medicines designed to treat diseases that are most common in the country and cause deaths," ABC.AZ reports, citing Zaur Aliyev, the chairman of board of the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance.

He noted that these include diseases of the cardiovascular, digestive and respiratory systems:

"Of course, all of the above has been prepared in the form of a draft and submitted to the relevant authorities in order to study feedback and suggestions. There is a lot of work to be done, and the financial stability of the MHI must be fully ensured in order to achieve all our goals."
