February 5, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, the area of insured crops in Azerbaijan amounted to 380,476 hectares (43% more than in 2022).

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Agriculture that last year the amount of insurance premiums collected from crop production totaled 13 million mantas (4.2 million manats, or 48% more versus the previous year).

As a result, the insurance coverage of the Fund for Crop Production exceeded half a billion manats and increased to 506 million manats.

In 2023, the largest part of the country's wheat, barley, cotton and corn crops was insured. In general, the number of insurance contracts for the insurance of acreage approached 47,000 (4,000 more than a year earlier).

In 2023, 7,800 heads of farm animals were insured through the agricultural insurance mechanism, including 6,500 heads of large and 1,300 heads of small cattle, 3.9 million manats of insurance premiums were collected. The amount of insurance coverage for animal insurance reached 36 million manats.
