EBRD's active portfolio in Azerbaijan declined

February 9, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2024, EBRD’s active portfolio on Azerbaijan decreased to €897 million (including outstanding obligations).

ABC.AZ reports that this figure is 1.5% lower or €14 million versus the previous figure provided by the bank. The number of implemented active projects remained at the level of 31.

90% of the portfolio (€809 million) is invested in sustainable infrastructure, 7% (€62 million) in industry, trade and agribusiness, and 3% (€26 million) in financial institutions.

Bank's operating assets in the country dropped by 4.9% to €714 million.

Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested €3.624 billion in Azerbaijan within 189 projects, and 83.6% of this volume (€3.024 bn) has already been used by borrowers.

The private sector accounted for 26% of the total investment.
