February 19, Fineko/abc.az. Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Italy via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in 2023 amounted to about 10 bcm (3.2% less than in 2022), ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Environment & Energy Security of Italy.

According to the Ministry, in December 2023, Italy received 804 million cu m of gas from Azerbaijan via TAP (an increase of 0.2% year-on-year).

The TAP pipeline is designed to transport gas from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea as part of Stage 2 of its development to Europe.

Earlier it was reported that according to the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat), in 2023 Italy sent about 5 billion euro for the purchase of gas from Azerbaijan.
