February 20, Fineko/abc.az. A wind farm with installed capacity of 240 MW will be constructed in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on a pilot project in connection with construction of a wind farm with installed capacity of 240 MW.
Under the order, the Cabinet Ministers is tasked to take the necessary measures to sign the amended and newly drafted Investment Agreement, Energy Purchase & Sale Agreement, Contract on Connection to the Distribution Network, Land Lease Agreements and the Direct Agreements and Independent Engineering Contract envisaged in these documents for construction of a wind farm with installed capacity of 240 MW.
The Cabinet is instructed to sign these documents and submit them to the country’s head of state.
The Ministries of Economy, of Finance and of Energy, together with Azerenergy OJSC, are tasked to take the necessary measures to fulfill their obligations reflected in the above-mentioned Investment Agreement and Energy Purchase & Sale Agreement.
In accordance with the Energy Purchase & Sale Agreement, the internal substation after construction and the bird protection system after installation will be leased by Azerenergy to ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia).
