February 21, Fineko/abc.az. The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposes to terminate agreements with Russia and Belarus on trade and economic cooperation.

ABC.AZ reports that the Lithuanian Ministry announced this initiative on its website.

"Taking into account the ongoing military aggression of Russia and Belarus against Ukraine, cooperation with these countries has been practically suspended, the treaty should be denounced," the site says.

Agreements on trade and economic cooperation between Lithuania and its eastern neighbors have been in force for 20 years: since 1993 - with Russia, since 1994 - with Belarus.

"Unilateral withdrawal from them does not provide for negative consequences," the Lithuanian Ministry argued.
