February 21, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, the commissioning of new residential buildings in Azerbaijan has significantly decreased compared to 2022.
As reported by ABC.AZ with reference to the State Statistics Committee, 22,910 residential buildings were commissioned in 2023. The total area of residential buildings is 2 million 511 thousand m2. On an annual basis, the number of apartments commissioned decreased by 379 units or 1.6%. And the square meters of apartments have become smaller — by 3.2%.
The main reason for this is that the number of houses owned by private individuals in 2023 will decrease by another 1,016 (9%) compared to last year to 10,225 units, or 1 million 436 thousand m2.
Last year, the number of houses built by state-owned enterprises decreased by 67% and amounted to 2,472 thousand, and the number of houses built by non-state enterprises increased 2.3 times and amounted to 10,213 units.
Houses built by the population fell by 9% compared to last year to 10,225.
