As a result of the reforms carried out in recent years in the field of pension provision, important steps have been taken to increase the accessibility of this security system and expand the range of categories eligible for early retirement. By the relevant resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers over the past two years, a total of 65 new professions and positions have been added to the "List of industries, professions, positions and indicators that give the right to an old-age pension on preferential terms", ABC.AZ was informed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

It was noted that currently this list, consisting of 35 parts, 280 sub-sections, contains more than 4 thousand professions and positions, indicating that employees of these industries have been granted the right to early retirement for 5 years.

At the same time, the additions and amendments made to the law "On Labor Pensions" in 2022 significantly softened the conditions for granting the right to early retirement upon reaching retirement age to persons engaged in harmful and hard work. The requirement for the length of service of 12 years, 6 months for men, 10 years for women associated with harmful activities, and 25 years if there is an appropriate pension capital in the personal account has been abolished.
