February 22, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 10 years, the flow of foreign tourists to Istanbul has increased significantly and exceeded 14.3 million people.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Department of Culture & Tourism of the Istanbul province.

According to the Department, if in 2013 this largest city of Tuürkiye was visited by 10,474,867 foreign tourists, then by the end of 2023 this figure reached 14,370,030 people. Over the past decade, the tourist flow to Istanbul grew by 66%.

Firuz Baglikaya, chairman of the Association of Travel Agencies of Türkiye (TURSAB), drew attention to the importance of airports in the north-west of the country for development of tourism. Noting the role of congresses and exhibitions in boosting the tourist flow to Istanbul, the chairman said: "We are pleased with the results of 2023, we have high hopes for the current year."
