ABC.AZ reports that chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov said about this.

He added that if 24,000 passengers were transported daily in early 2023, , now this number exceeds 30,000.

He noted that the country's railway infrastructure is outdated.

"Train delays happen all over the world, for example, in adverse weather, technical problems. The main reason for delays on our railways is outdated infrastructure. Despite the fact that the road has been modernized, it needs major repairs and rehabilitation. A project is currently being prepared, and a complete reconstruction of the road is planned. To implement the project, a large amount of investment is needed, which is calculated. We are working to improve the condition of the railway infrastructure," Rustamov said.
