Did banks' external liabilities decrease in January?

February 27, Fineko/abc.az. As of the beginning of the year, the external liabilities of the banking sector in Azerbaijan declined by 102 million manats in January, but were higher compared with 2023.

External liabilities at the end of the reported term reached 2.496 bn manats, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank.

The recorded change in external obligations is linked mainly with decrease in the size of settlement accounts of non-resident legal entities.

At the beginning of 2023, banks' external liabilities amounted to 1.815 bn manats.
