February 27, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan has proposed to the World Bank to prepare a strategy on development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

ABC.AZ reports that Sapar Bektasov, the director of the Transport Policy Department of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, said about this during the presentation of the study on the Middle Corridor conducted by the WB in Tbilisi today.

"Given the high potential of transport connectivity of the Central Asian region with the Black Sea countries through the Caucasus region with access to Europe, we need to take one-time and interrelated measures between the countries. To do this, there is a need to develop a long-term strategy on Middle Corridor, for example, for the period until 2040 or longer. In this regard, we are applying to you to consider the possibility of developing a long-term strategy on the Middle Corridor, taking into account all possible economic and environmental changes in the future," Bektasov emphasized.
