February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Information & Communication Technologies Agency (IKTA), Azerbaijan's regulatory body for telecommunications & postal services, has received complaints about some providers who commit abuses by distributing unsubstantiated information to consumers.
ABC.AZ reports that according to IKTA, from the complaints received by IKTA, it was found that employees of competing Internet service providers and persons engaged in the sale of their services individually interview subscribers of other providers and inform them of rumors about the business activity of the service provider, including that that activity of this provider will be suspended, it will go bankrupt, has large debts and, thus, may mislead the client, discredit a competing provider. There are cases of spreading disinformation through targeted actions.
According to the allegations set out in the complaints received by the agency, these actions of these Internet service providers are aimed at attracting the subscriber to their side, prompting him to abandon the services of a competitor.
