April 5, Fineko/abc.az. Ford will postpone the release of new electric pickups and a large electric SUV, as well as add gas-electric hybrid cars to the lineup because of slowing demand for electric vehicles in the U.S.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to company's statement, postponement of the release of new models occurred amid background of slowdown in sales of electric vehicles in the U.S. to 2.7% in the 1st quarter of this year. Last year, demand was 47% and contributed to record sales and market share of 7.6%.

The company will postpone the release of an electric pickup truck for a year, until 2026. The release of a large electric SUV with three rows of seats will be postponed for two years – until 2027.

American TV channel CNBC reported that the excitement about electric vehicles in the world is gradually falling, against which there is a broad return to more mixed supply of cars. For example, the largest automakers (Ford Motor, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin) are reducing or postponing their plans to produce electric vehicles.
