April 17, Fineko/abc.az. The Kyrgyz authorities plan to impose restrictions on access to social network TikTok on the territory of the republic, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Kyrgyz news agency 24.kg

"The Service for Regulation & Supervision in the Communications Industry under the Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan has sent a letter to the country's Internet service providers with a request to restrict access to TikTok," the agency says.

A relevant letter was sent to the Ministry by the State Committee for National Security, which believes that the country "lacks a systematic and principled approach to censorship of content, in particular in the children's information space.

"The Committee requests to restrict access to TikTok information service on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and provide a written response before April 18," the agency quotes the text of Committee’s letter.
