Forbes: Vagit Alekperov tops list of the richest Russians

April 18, Fineko/abc.az. The number of Russian dollar billionaires in the Forbes world ranking has grown from 110 to 125 people in a year.

ABC.AZ reports that this is the highest result in the history of the list of the richest businessmen in the world. The previous record for the number of Russians in the ranking was recorded in 2021 - 123 people.

The total wealth of the richest Russians increased by 14% over the year and reached $576.8 billion. Forbes notes that this figure is below the record level of 2021, when the total capital of 123 Russian billionaires reached $606.2 billion.

Lukoil founder Vagit Alekperov became the leader of the list among Russian businessmen, and his fortune increased to $28.6 billion over the year. Next to him is the head of Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson, whose capital is estimated at $27.4 billion. NLMK's main shareholder Vladimir Lisin took the third place ($26.6 billion). Alexey Mordashov, Severstal's main shareholder and chairman of company's Board of Directors ($25.5 billion), is next in the ranking. Vladimir Potanin, President of Norilsk Nickel, closes Top 5 ($23.7 billion).

The fortune of businessman, founder of Eurochem Andrey Melnichenko, the leader of 2-23 years, decreased to $21.1 billion, he dropped to the 7th line.
