April 18, Fineko/abc.az. Trans fats play a major role in the formation of malignant tumors, and this has been proven.

ABC.AZ reports that Parliamentary Health Committee’s chair Ahliman Amiraslanov said this at committee’s public hearing.

According to the chair, not only the production, but also the processing of food products contributes to formation of malignant tumors:

"Even if healthy food is produced, it becomes extremely dangerous for the human body if it is not processed properly. Smoked meat products and animal fats cause the formation of malignant tumors. It is difficult to talk about human health without a healthy diet."

Amiraslanov added that the presence of GMO products in food products is inevitable due to increase in the number of people: "Control over this issue should be strengthened."
