April 19, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are increasing in Friday’s trading after the Israeli attack on Iranian Isfahan.
The price of June’s Brent crude futures at the London ICE Futures Exchange increased by $1.94 (2.23%) up to $89.05 per barrel by 09:33. Following the trading on April 18, Brent crude futures for June fell by $0.18 (0.21%) to $87.11 per barrel.
The price of WTI crude oil futures for May on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose by $1.99 (2.41%) to $84.72 per barrel by 09:33. Following the trading on April 18, the price of WTI oil futures for May grew by $0.04 (0.05%) to $82.73 per barrel.
News about the Israeli attack provoked a new wave of fears of a growing conflict in the Middle East and restrictions on oil supplies from the region.
The attack on Isfahan was carried out using drones, they were shot down by the Iranian air defense forces. Air defense systems responded to suspicious objects in the airspace of Isfahan near a military base north of the city.
