Armenia starts mine clearance near Ashagi Askipara village

April 22, Fineko/abc.az. Armenian sappers began to mine the territories adjacent to the Church of the Holy Virgin in Voskepara (Ashagi Askipara) with the purpose of further delimitation, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Armenian media.

Following the delimitation with Azerbaijan, the new border will be located in immediate vicinity of the church, which will remain under the control of the Armenian side. It is reported that 20-25 sappers are currently working there.

On April 19, it became known that following the 8th meeting of the state delimitation commissions, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin the delimitation process with Tavush region and finalize the draft regulation on joint activity of delimitation commissions until July 1.
