April 24, Fineko/abc.az. The return of former IDPs to the city of Shusha will begin next month.

ABC.AZ reports that president’s special representative in Shusha region, Aydin Kerimov, said this at panel discussion "Sustainable development in Karabakh" within the international conference in Lachin with participation of experts from 30 countries.

"I’m pleased to announce that next month we’ll welcome the first group of former IDPs who will return to their hometown after more than 30 years of absence. The new residential quarter will provide housing for 370 families of former IDPs.

Together with this complex, our goal by the end of 2026 is to build 110 residential buildings. These will be four-, five- or six-storey buildings, which will allow us to accommodate about 8,000 people. All these buildings will be built according to new thermal insulation standards, which will significantly increase their energy efficiency," Kerimov said.
