MP: Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover has sharply decreased

12:12 - 29.04.2024

April 29, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 2 months of this year, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.428 bn. Our exports amount to $3.98 bn and imports - $2.446 bn, ABC.AZ quotes Milli Majlis MP Vugar Bayramov.

He added that foreign trade turnover in real prices declined by 23.5%, in real terms - by 15%, including imports by 19.9%, and exports by 12.7%.

Exports of non-oil/gas products totaled $455 million, a drop of 30.1% in actual prices and 36.9% in real terms versus Jan-Feb 2023.

"It is noteworthy that in the first 2 months of this year there was no sharp difference in world market prices for oil compared with Jan-Feb 2023. Thus, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil in January 2023 was $82.5, in February - $82.8, and in the first months of this year - $80.12 and $83.48, respectively. The average price for the first 2 months of 2023 was $82.65, and for the period of this year - $81.8. The global market price of oil has not become an effective factor in reducing trade turnover," he said.
