May 1, Fineko/abc.az. Iran has unilaterally simplified the visa regime for Turkmen citizens and expects Turkmenistan to reciprocate these Iranian measures.

ABC.AZ reports that the head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh said this during a meeting in Tehran with his Turkmen counterpart Mergen Gurdov.

The Iranian official noted that expansion of trade between Iran and Turkmenistan depends on the creation of a preferential trading system between the two countries.

He added that Iran-Turkmenistan trade turnover had totaled $450 million, "however, bilateral exchanges between the two neighboring countries lag far behind potential opportunities".

The Iranian side talks about the significant potential for cooperation in the field of medical tourism and offers its services in the field of high-tech technologies, mining and agriculture.
