U.S. Congress approves a ban on import of enriched uranium from Russia

May 1, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Senate unanimously approved on Tuesday a bill banning the import of enriched uranium from Russia.

ABC.AZ reports that earlier the initiative was approved by the House of Representatives of the Congress. Now the document must be signed by U.S. President Joe Biden. The White House has stated that it supports the bill.

He will impose a ban on the import of Russian uranium to the U.S.  90 days after it takes effect, and temporary exceptions will be in effect until January 2028.
