May 2, Fineko/abc.az. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Azerbaijan became one of the countries that quickly restored the tourism sector, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Kanan Gasimov, the head of the staff at the State Tourism Agency.

He said that 513,413 tourists visited Azerbaijan for Jan-Mar 2024 (39% more against Jan-Mar 2023).

"The measures carried out with the support of the state in connection with development of the tourism sector have led to an increase in the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan. Thus, 2.2 million tourists visited Azerbaijan last year, which is 30% more than a year earlier," the chief of staff stressed.

Gasimov noted that in the future it is planned to implement joint projects with the OIC countries, which will increase the number of tourist trips to our country.
