IMF: AI covers labor market ‘like a tsunami’

May 15, Fineko/abc.az. The AI revolution can have serious negative consequences for job seekers.

ABC.AZ reports that IMF head Kristalina Georgieva said about this during her speech at the Swiss Institute of International Studies in Zurich.

According to Georgieva, AI is covering the market like a "tsunami".

"We have very little time to prepare people and businesses for [AI]. If we use it correctly, it can lead to a huge increase in productivity, but it can also contribute to the spread of misinformation and increase stratification in society," Georgieva said.

This is not the first alarming warning about AI from the head of the IMF. She already announced the organization's forecast in January: technology could affect about 40% of jobs in the world and 60% of jobs in developed AI countries.
