May 20, Fineko/abc.az. It is planned to replace Tajikistan's food imports with Azerbaijani products.

ABC.AZ reports that Yusif Abdullayev, executive director of the Azerbaijan Exports & Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), told journalists today at the Azerbaijani-Tajik Business Forum in Baku.

He added that food imports from Tajikistan amount to about $950 million.

"Unfortunately, trade relations with Tajikistan are small. Our annual turnover is only about $6 million. This turnover must be increased. Azerbaijan mainly supplies sugar and cottonseed oil to Tajikistan. The annual import of cottonseed oil to this country is 116,000 tons. We intend to increase the supply of cottonseed oil to Tajikistan to a thousand tons, although our share here is not very large," the AZPROMO head said.
