May 21, Fineko/abc.az. A ban on the import of products to Azerbaijan was imposed for 13 companies last year.

ABC.AZ reports that Goshgar Tahmazli, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AZTA) said this at the Plant Health Forum "For the Sake of a Green World" in Baku.

He added that 829 notifications were sent to exporting countries last year on the detection of harmful organisms subject to quarantine in imported plants and plant products.

"In 49 cases, harmful organisms were found in the planting and sowing material. As part of phytosanitary control measures, the Agency made decisions on temporary bans on the import of products against 13 importers."
