May 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC increased cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor by 35% in four months of this year compared with 2023, ABC.AZ reports, quoting ADY chairman Rovshan Rustamov.

Stressing Azerbaijan’s important role in the Middle Corridor, he noted that a total of 60 trains were sent along the Middle Corridor from the Chinese port of Xi'an.

The sides exchanged views on the subsidization by the Chinese side of transit transportation by rail and transit route through the territory of Azerbaijan to increase the competitiveness and carrying capacity of the Middle Corridor. It was noted that ADY is ready to help in the formation of a return cargo flow from Türkiye  and Azerbaijan to China in the West-East direction.
