The number of users of the jestdili.az website, developed with the support of Nar, has doubled

Traditionally known as an affordable operator, Nar continues to contribute to society through its social projects. Among these projects, the jestdili.az sign language e-dictionary, which is aimed at building an inclusive society and received an international award, is of particular importance.

Based on the results of the last three months, the number of users on the site, which was updated by the students of ADA University at the beginning of this year with the support of "Nar", has doubled. According to another statistical indicator, the most searched phrases on the site are the words "salam", "ata" and "ana". One of the reasons for the increase in interest in the site is the improvement of its interface, design and search system, as well as addition of other features  to ensure user-friendliness at the initiative of the ADA team.

Kamran Abasov, the other partner of the project, Chairman of the Public Union "Support to the Deaf", says that the resource that allows learning the Azerbaijani sign language completely free of charge is not only for people with hearing and speech limiatations: "The interest in the website jestdili.az, which has been operating for four years, is increasing day by day. As this site is not only for the speech and hearing impaired, anyone can benefit from it completely free of charge. I believe that we can overcome limitations and build an inclusive society by understanding each other better.”

The e-dictionary, which is constantly being improved, currently offers video explanations of 4000 words and 500 frequently used sentences. In 2023, the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) awarded Nar the first place in the best corporate responsibility nomination for the jestdili.az project.
