June 4, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Presidential Administration’s press service, Ilham Aliyev and Alparslan Bayraktar discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the oil & gas sector, in the field of renewable energy, including the project of organizing the production of "green" energy in Nakhchivan.

At the meeting the minister expressed a hope that gas pipeline construction project Ygdyr-Nakhchivan will be completed in 2024.

President Aliyev, in his turn, stressed the importance of this project from angle of gas supply to the NAR. The president also noted the importance of the electricity generation project in Nakhchivan.

"Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan and Türkiye have a broad agenda for cooperation in the energy sector. This agenda includes oil, gas, renewable energy, TPAO and SOCAR are implementing joint projects in third countries. President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijani gas is exported to a number of countries through Türkiye and expressed confidence that cooperation in this area will expand in the future," the press service informed.
