CBA department director: Azerbaijan's current account has surplus of $1.7 bn

June 12, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of 2024, surplus of $1.7 bn formed on the current account of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Samir Nasirov, the director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank, made this statement at a briefing. 

He said reserve assets increased by $116 million. The foreign trade surplus amounted to $2.7 bn. Surplus of $180 million was generated on the balance sheet of renewable sources of income.
"Over Jan-Mar, $1.5 bn of foreign direct investments was made in the Azerbaijani economy, and Azerbaijan's direct investments in foreign countries - $1.9 bn," he emphasized.
