Net financial assets of foreign direct investments lowered by $11.9 million

June 12, Fineko/abc.az. The net financial assets of foreign direct investments reduced by $11.9 million and the net financial liabilities by $358.6 million. The total amount of investments raised from abroad in the form of foreign direct investments amounted to $1.5 bn, and foreign direct investments abroad - $330.5 million. 

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank that the share of the oil & gas sector in the structure of foreign direct investments in country's economy made up 87.6%. The decline in net financial liabilities for the oil & gas sector (-$357.1 million) of foreign direct investments in the balance of payments for Q1 of 2024 is formed from the difference between attracted investments in the oil & gas sector ($1.322 bn) and the repatriation of capital in this sector ($1.679 bn). 

It is estimated that the total amount of foreign direct investments raised to the non-oil/gas sector amounted to $186.5 million.
