June 13, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-May 2024, 71.5% of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in Azerbaijan used air transport, 27.1% - rail and road transport, and 1.4% - sea transport.

ABC.AZ reports that compared with Jan-May 2023, the total number of citizens of Azerbaijan traveling abroad grew by 27.5% up to 808,100 people, the State Statistics Committee reports.

The number of citizens of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 39.4%, to Türkiye by 27.1%, to Georgia by 21.3%, to the Russian Federation by 14.9%.

38.9% of citizens of Azerbaijan visited Türkiye, 21.9% - the Russian Federation, 8.9% - Georgia, 8.6% - Iran, 21.7% - other countries.

Men made up 67.3% of the total number and women - 32.7%. Over Jan-May 2024, 67.7% of citizens of Azerbaijan visiting foreign countries traveled by air, 30.0% by rail and road, and 2.3% by sea.
